Yoga for weight loss: Obesity is a major problem among people. Not only obesity is a problem but also it gives birth to another problem. Generally, excessive weight gain is called obesity. This is one type of disorder which enhances many problems like arthritis, knee decay, type 2 diabetes, back pain, high blood pressure, digestion problem, breathing problem. It also takes a bad effect on the reproductive system. Your menstrual cycle can be irregular. So, obesity is a big issue for us.

 1. Matsyasana ( Fish Pose ): One of the parts of hatha yoga and modern yoga is Matsyasana or fish pose. This stretches your abdomen, throat, navel, neck, Thighs, chest, abdominal muscles, back muscles. This asana reduces your fat from belly, waist, thighs.

 • Starting process: lie down on the floor and do Padmasana or lotus position. Place your hands at your sides. Press your hands against the floor. Lift up your back, keep your head and neck down. Touch your scalp on the floor. Your chest and belly should be upwards. The spine should be stretched. Hold your right thumb and left thumb of right and left legs respectively by your left and right hand. F
or 30 seconds to 1 minute stay in this position. Repeat it 3 times.

 2. Ustrasana ( Camel Pose ): Ustrasana or Camel Pose is an effective asana for weight loss. This asana stretches your abdomen, Thaigh, chest throat, abdominal muscles, waist, back muscles. This posture helps you with weight loss. This asana reduces your fat of belly, waist, thighs.

 • Starting process: Sit down on the floor as 'Nail down' by bending your knees. Exhale, down your head by lifting the chest. Try to hold your heals by your hands. Stretch your hands. Holding your breath and stay in this position for 5 to 10 seconds. Inhale and come back to the previous state. Take rest for 10 seconds and repeat this posture for 3 times.

 3. Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend): Paschimottanasana or Seated Forward Bend is a useful asana or poses for weight loss. This is also a part of hatha yoga and modern yoga. This asana stretches your back, shoulder, spine, belly, ankle. This decreases your belly fat. This melts your fat easily.

 • Starting process: Sit down on the floor, spread your feet towards the front. Exhale and hold both legs by your hands. Keep your head on knees. Put your elbows on the floor. Holding your breath for 5-10 seconds and stay in this posture. Inhale and come back to the previous position. 

 4. Sarvangasana: Sarvangasana or is a good asana for reducing fat. Generally, it stretches your shoulders, neck, abdomen, feet. It gives pressure on your hands. This pose diminishes fat from arms, hips, belly.

 • Starting process: Lie on your back. Hold your lower back by both hands. Lift up your belly, buttocks, back, and legs at high. There will be pressure on your hands for holding your lower body parts. Straight your legs and for 30 seconds to 1-minute stay in this posture. Repeat this 3 times.

 5. Manduk asana ( Frog Pose): Manduk asana or frog pose is a part of hatha yoga and modern yoga. It stretches abdominal muscles, back muscles, thighs, ankles, neck, throat. It gives strength to your body. It reduces weight. Besides stretching this asana also gives pressure on the abdomen, waist, and thighs. So this pressure helps to burn fat from these body parts.

 • Starting process: Sit down on the floor in Vajrayana. Toch your both thumbs of your legs to each other. Close your both hands and make it fist. Give pressure on your navel with your fists. Exhale and bend your torso. Holding your breath for 10 seconds and stay in this posture. Inhale and come back to the previous state. Repeat it 3 times.
